Recent Events & Development Progress
Ginn sur Mer jumped off to an impressive start in 2006, generating nearly 240 homesite sales for over $240 million in just four months of marketing in 2006. In 2007, with a multi-million marketing wind at our backs, the pace of sales should accelerate dramatically.
Boat and aircraft owners have been the main focus of our initial marketing activities. Ginn sur Mer was the title sponsor of the 47th annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show on October 26-30, and also was an exhibitor at the National Business Aircraft Association convention in Orlando on Oct. 17-19.
Our message was favorably received at both events, resulting in a combined total of over 800 new qualified prospects with interest in learning more about the Ginn Sur Mer lifestyle.
The pace of construction at Ginn Sur Mer is also picking up steam. Today there are over 150 workers on site and 98 pieces of heavy equipment. By 2009, when the project hits full stride, that number will grow to over 2,000 making Ginn sur Mer one of the largest employers in the Bahamas.
Our main focus now is on a four-mile stretch of oceanfront, where we are excavating massive amounts of earth (over 1.4 million cubic yards) and back-filling with a mixture of stone and shell, conveniently obtained from blasting at our two marina sites.
By mid-summer 2007, the excavation process should be completed and the installation of roads and utilities for the oceanfront neighborhood should be underway. After that, well start site preparation for the multi-family projects to be launched next year.
One of our biggest goals is to make Ginn sur Mer one of the most flight-friendly resort communities in the Bahamas. To that end, our 6,000-foot runway has been enhanced, and fencing has been installed around the airport perimeter to enhance security.
Ginn sur Mer can accommodate a wide variety of personal and business aircraft, including the Gulfstream V (short haul) and Gulfstream IV (short & medium haul); Citation I, II, III, Bravo and Encore; Learjet 55 (short haul); Boeing 737 (short haul) and the Beech 1900, to name just a few. Upcoming News & Events
The Ginn team of builders, land planners, marine and aviation experts, sales executives and our activity staff will be on hand to answer questions and update you on development activities. You can also expect the usual array of excellent food and entertainment that Ginn Clubs & Resorts is famous for.
On the development side, we are moving ahead with several projects. A primary emphasis will be on design and engineering for the multi-family project to be launched in 2007. In addition, the temporary sales center should be in place by early February, and the golf maintenance facility for the Jack Nicklaus signature course should be finished about the same time.
We are also at work on a number of community service projects, including the rebuilding of the baseball fields, construction of a press box, and the building of new basketball courts for the local community.
